MYP 3 Dublin Trip – Days 1 & 2

Day one’s turbulence came before lift-off as the connecting flight was missed by an agonising 10 minutes. However, turbulence turned to opportunity with time to chat, socialise, and spend time together in a way school days don’t allow. Then, finally, we successfully reached our destination.

We took day two as a fresh start and it went according to plan. It started with a walking tour led by the most wonderful guide, Deirdre, who was informative, engaging, and kept everyone interested in Dublin’s and Ireland’s history. We strolled around St Stephen’s Green, a beautiful park in the city centre and then proceeded to the famous Grafton street where we found many different shops and opportunities to satisfy our hunger. The next stop was Dublinia – an interactive and engaging museum depicting Dublin’s Viking routes, and the medieval development of the city. As evening entertainment, we participated in a silent disco party, which was predictably hit and miss, but that is the risk with 25 souls with differing tastes and levels of energy. The takeaway is that the teachers have more stamina than the teens.
