MYP 3 Dublin Trip – Days 3 & 4

The last two days in Dublin were eventful, with the city and its surroundings treating us very well with the weather. Despite a gloomy forecast, we had sunny skies and a proper sea breeze.

On day three, we had a bizarre experience in the Museum of Curiosities where we saw a number of oddities collected by an enthusiastic owner, Paul. After this we delved into Dublin’s and Ireland’s archaeological past. Only a short train ride brought us to the beautiful coastal town of Howth, where we enjoyed fresh fish and chips and went on a boat cruise on the moderately rough waters of the Irish Sea.

The final day began with a great guided tour of Trinity College and the main chamber of the Old library – the Long Room with amongst other texts, the revered Book of Kells. After the tour we headed to the spire and interacted with people around the world through the Portal.
Soon it was time to embark on the journey home, which was, to say the least, nerve-racking. However, we made it home safely full of wonderful memories.
