Every Friday is a Show and Tell Day in the kindergarten – the children get to present their home toys to their friends.
We decided to create a special chair in which they sit to give their presentation.
The children enjoyed the activity and our chair is ready for next Friday.

Dear DKIS Community, As we stand at the doorstep of 2024, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude and extend warm wishes to each and every one of you. This year has been a tapestry woven…

On Thursday, 21 December, our MYP students spent the day learning about sustainability, especially connected to the holidays. They first learnt about the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations and discussed how they can implement these goals in their own lives. Then they could either join some sports games, the handicrafts workshop, sewing or the baking of vanilla butter cookies. Afterwards, they watched a film and through it learnt an important lesson - holidays are not about gift giving, but spending time with your loved ones.
Let’s all be inspired to be more sustainable during the upcoming holidays!
Happy holidays!
The MYP team
P.S. If you would like to try baking the wonderful vanilla butter cookies, here is the recipe.
VANILLA BUTTER COOKIES
Ingredients:
Flour – 180 g
Sugar – 100 g
Butter – 80 g
Eggs – 1
Vanilla sugar – ½ pack
Baking powder – ½ pack
Pinch of salt
Method: Put all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix until a uniformed dough is formed. Make a ball out of it, which you flatten a little and wrap in a transparent food film.
Place the dough in the refrigerator for approximately 20 minutes.
Prepare the surface by flouring it and rolling it out to a thickness of approximately 3 mm, and grab any cookie cutters you like.
Arrange them on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and bake them for 10 minutes at 180°C.

We were delighted to bring a true classic, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, to the stage.
This year we were also premiering our new subject Theatre, and the play is the first fruitful collaboration between Drama and Music.
We are proud and excited that we were able to share this special project. Our vision was to bring a tiny bit of the Victorian era to life.
We enjoyed a play full of character, which is an accomplished achievement that any professional company can envy. The time at our disposal was short; therefore, we are thrilled for the students, since it is a true testament to their dedication and work.
We wish you happy holidays and a happy, peaceful and healthy New Year.

On Wednesday, the Kindergarten pupils joined the English Sports class to try the traditional and classic bat and ball game – Cricket. The youngsters showed some great hand eye coordination with the bat, as well as some athletic feilding skills. There was a lot of talent on display.

The PYP pupils were given a wonderful winter Santa surprise on Tuesday as Father Christmas took time out from his hectic Schedule at the North Pole to come and spread some of the Festive cheer and bestow some great gifts.
Thank you Mr Klaus!

Dear DKIS Community,
Our school glowed with festive cheer as MYP 3, PYP, and KG students enchanted us with delightful performances yesterday. The day was a celebration of joy and skill.
Following the student performances, our incredible Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) transformed the main hallway into a Christmas Bazaar, where the spirit of the season came alive. Families explored a winter wonderland of stalls, enjoying delicious treats and discovering seasonal games.
A heartfelt thank you to our students, teachers, and the amazing PTA for making this day truly magical. As we embrace the holiday season, may the unity, creativity, and joy experienced yesterday continue to inspire us all.
Best wishes,

We invited our parents to join us for our gym lesson.
Together with our teachers we prepared two fun relay obstacle courses.
We had a blast!

In a recent regional basketball tournament, the students from Danila Kumar International school, alongside those from International School Carinthia, International School Udine, and LIS, demonstrated impressive skills and teamwork.
The boys' basketball team from DKIS showcased resilience and sportsmanship, securing an impressive second-place finish among tough competition. At he other end of the court, the girls' team dominated the tournament, securing first place with outstanding teamwork and individual brilliance.
Adding an exciting cultural element to the competition, the international mix of teams from different schools fostered companionship among students with diverse backgrounds.
Beyond victories, the tournament celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship and unity among schools, creating a memorable and spirited competition that showcased the positive energy and cheers from students, coaches, and supporters.
Congratulations to all teams for their success and contributions to an exciting basketball tournament!
