Visiting Author – Noah Charney

On Monday 19 October, Our school hosted the American art historian and novelist, Noah Charney, who is based in Slovenia. During his engaging lecture, the students learned more about the life of a writer, which involves much more than just writing. He also shared his experiences of moving to Slovenia, including learning the language and adapting to local customs, as well as offering a fresh and very positive perspective on Slovenia, which Slovenians themselves are not always aware of. Slavic mythology was the next topic for which Mr Charney provided a brief overview of its development throughout history. He concluded with a quiz testing the students’ knowledge of Slovenia, in which they participated enthusiastically. The gathered grades (PYP 4 – MYP 3) showed great interest in the lecture, and thanks to the variety of topics covered, each of them hopefully learned something new and interesting.
