DKIS Professional Development Days – Snovik

On 17 and 18 April, the DKIS staff gathered in Snovik for two inspiring and productive professional development days focused on reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Throughout the workshops and discussions, the staff explored how to simplify processes and focus more intentionally on what truly impacts student learning. A key theme was “Removing the Excess to Focus on What Matters,” encouraging teachers to reflect on practices, expectations, and routines that may have become unnecessarily complicated over time.

The programme also included discussions following the recent IB evaluation visit, collaborative work on inclusion, curriculum coherence between PYP and MYP, conceptual understanding, the use of AI in education, and evidence-based reflection. Work was collaboratively carried out in groups to identify meaningful improvements while ensuring that future developments remain purposeful and manageable.

The two days provided valuable opportunities for teamwork, professional dialogue, and sharing ideas across departments, all while strengthening our commitment to creating the best possible learning environment for our students.
