1M recently stepped into a time machine during an exciting visit to the Slovenian School Museum. Our young learners experienced a real lesson from more than 130 years ago and quickly discovered that school life was very different back then.
The children compared classrooms, teachers, rules, routines, and lessons from the past with those that they know today. They learned that pupils had to follow very strict rules, sit properly, and show great respect to their teachers. Some of the old-fashioned teaching methods came as quite a surprise.
After the lesson, the class explored the museum exhibition, where they discovered even more fascinating details about the schools of the past. They examined old textbooks, writing tools, school furniture, and historic photographs, learning how education has changed over the years.
The visit was full of curiosity, laughter, and thoughtful discussions. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the past while reflecting on how lucky we are to learn in the classrooms of today. What a memorable journey through history.
