Halloween Escape

In the spirit of Halloween, but still in connection with their unit of inquiry in English, the 8M and 8I students tried to escape their English classrooms this week by solving tasks connected to the English sonnet. They had to complete four tasks to decode a mysterious word. The tasks included deciphering the correct line order of a sonnet, working out whether lines had been written in iambic pentameter, identifying literary devices and also writing a Sonnet stanza on the topic of Halloween. The students were very enthusiastic and managed to escape, so we let everyone go and enjoy the autumn holidays.
