Celebrating Books 🗓

Following on from celebrating Slovenian National Reading Day, which was on 5 March, April feels like a true book month with so many days dedicated to books and reading around the world. International Children’s Book Day is observed on 2 April and World Book and Copyright Day is honoured on 23 April. Furthermore, 17 April is recognised as International Haiku Poetry Day.

Therefore, we would like to kindly remind you that, in addition to our well-stocked school library, children (under 18s) can become members of any Slovenian public library free of charge. Children under the age of 15 need the assistance of their parents or guardians to register, as they must complete the application form on their child’s behalf.

We would also like to remind parents that they are warmly invited to take part in our Reading Badge for Parents, as well as to encourage their children to participate in the English Reading Badge; both conclude on 29 May. More information is available on our school website.
