World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated every year on 23 April, the date of the deaths of notable literary figures such as Cervantes and Shakespeare. Chosen by UNESCO in 1995, this day aims to promote reading. To commemorate the day, the students were able to share their favourite books and quotes as well as trying to connect quotes with their books and authors. In addition to these activities, the April library lessons in the MYP were dedicated to promoting books; 6M participated in a library treasure hunt where they had to find and cite books based on clues, while the 7M students were researching different literary genres as well as promoting the importance of reading. Finally, 8I and 8M spent the lesson learning about different literary periods and their most famous representatives.
