On Tuesday 21 April the PYP 1 – 5 students joined in a special Science Day dedicated to architecture and design. The comprehensive workshops guided the students from foundational spatial concepts to advanced engineering. Grades 1 and 2 focused on personal environments, using sensory exploration to understand scale and building models to learn about utility systems and neighbourhood design. In grade 3, the focus shifted to urban development, where students used tactile mapping to compare global cities and sustainability. Grades 4 and 5 concluded the program by investigating technical construction; the students analysed wood properties and structural stability, looking at complex physics through historical engineering challenges like self-supporting bridges and reinforced material modelling.
