Slovenian Book Fair

On Friday 28 November, nine MYP students from 7M, 8I and 8M were awarded the special opportunity to visit the Slovenian Book Fair at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. The students attended an interview and discussion with the acclaimed British children’s author Hannah Gold, who has written bestselling novels on nature themes, including The Last Bear (2021), The Lost Whale (2022), Finding Bear (2023), Turtle Moon (2024) and The Lone Husky (2025), several of which have been translated into Slovene. The MYP students joined the large audience of students from other primary schools, but distinguished themselves by posing imaginative and relevant questions to the writer. After the event, several students searched out Hannah Gold to get her autograph, while others browsed the bookstands before heading back to school inspired by the British writer’s authenticity, geniality and enthusiasm for nature.
