On Tuesday 23 December, all PYP classes will attend a musical performance at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana. The story, written by Jera Ivanc, with music composed by Janez Dovč, takes us to a mystical time during the summer solstice when forces of the night, led by the snake dragon, try to take over the light and defeat the Slavic god Kresnik. Only with the help of fireflies, the moon and Slavic fairies of fate will the main characters of the story learn that right does not necessarily equate to good.
As this is an event at a cultural institution, the students should dress appropriately.
Please note that students must arrive at school earlier than usual so we can depart on time and be punctual and on time for the performance.
The timetable for the day is:
07:50 – gathering at school and picking up school snack
08:00 – leaving school for Cankarjev dom by bus
09:00 – performance
10:00 – snack at Cankarjev dom and departure back to school
11:05 to 11:50 – lesson for reflection
11:55 – end of cultural day/lunch, AP as usual
