On Wednesday 24 September the whole MYP had a Language Acquisition Day in Kranj, the city of our notable poet France Prešeren. The students worked in small groups and utilised their knowledge of the languages taught at our school.
Teamwork, cooperation, and a little bit of risk-taking enabled them to find various spots on the scavenger map. At each of these there was a multilinguistic task to complete.
After the scavenger hunt, each class headed to a different location and took part in a guided tour of interesting exhibitions, while MYP 3 headed underground into the famous Kranj Tunnels.
The weather was kind to us; we were sceptical the day before, but our group positive thinking banished the rainclouds, and we were able to enjoy the day umbrella-free.
It was a successful and productive cultural day, with many new discoveries about Slovenian history, culture, all while nurturing ties and relationships among all MYP students.
