Service as Action

The students of 6M, 7M and 7I collaborated with the nearby retirement home and our kindergarten again this year as part of their service as action. Each student from 6M had to visit the retirement home in BeΕΎigrad twice and prepare some activities for the residents. The students suggested and prepared a variety of activities including cooking and baking, playing board games, exercising as well as creating arts and crafts. They were excellent and respectful communicators and bonded with the residents. The 7M and 7I students, on the other hand, each prepared two lessons in the kindergarten this year. Their activities included decorating cookies and making smoothies, creating arts and crafts, reading, origami, dancing, playing board games, exercising as well as taking part in a scavenger hunt and a puppet performance. Although the task was challenging, they, nevertheless, enjoyed spending time with the younger students. Overall, the project was again a success and we are looking forward to collaborating with the students and the residents of the retirement home again next year. A big thank you to the kindergarten teachers as well as Ms Maja Majnik and the counselling team who helped make everything run smoothly.
