MYP2 Science Day – Nuclear Energy 🗓

On Wednesday 20 May, there will be a science day for our MYP2 students, dedicated to the theme of energy, with a focus on nuclear science. This full-day learning experience is designed to deepen the students’ understanding of both the science and real-world implications of nuclear energy.

Schedule and Activities:

  • 08:15 – The students arrive at school and begin the day with an engaging discussion on nuclear energy, followed by a documentary about the Chernobyl disaster.
  • 09:55 – Snack break in the classroom.
  • 10:30 – Departure from school: students meet at the reception and walk together to the Tuš carpark, where a bus will take them to the Nuclear reactor infrastructure centre in Brinje.
  • 11:00 – 13:00 – At Brinje, the students will attend a presentation on nuclear fusion – energy of the future, participate in a hands-on workshop, and explore an educational exhibition.
  • 13:00 – 13:30– Return to school.

This science day will be a valuable opportunity for the students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, and to experience science in action through interactive sessions and expert insights.
