Author Visit – Žiga X Gombač

Some of our students had the opportunity to attend a lecture by the acclaimed children and youth author Žiga X Gombač. Through his engaging storytelling he shared the choices that led him to start writing. He also explained that, besides writing, some writers explore many other avenues, such as writing plays, illustrating comics, hosting events, performing music, and lecturing in schools, amongst other pursuits. Furthermore, he highlighted a choice that he himself had to make – after realising he was good at something, should he hone the skill and use it, or throw it away and forget about it? This lecture was a valuable lesson for the students that pursuing one’s passions can take you on unexpected and rewarding paths.
