Social Media Library Lesson

The March library lessons in 8M and 8I were dedicated to social media. The students had a hot potato discussion on the benefits and disadvantages of social media. Furthermore, the main part of the lessons was dedicated to raising awareness of the problems with social media including cyberbullying, fake news and misinformation, privacy, self-image, mental health, respectful communication, addiction, online scams and fraud, political manipulation, and the impact on real-life relationships. The students investigated the topics in pairs, and created some educational social media posts, which will be displayed next to the computer lab.
