Ideas for Viewing

Dear Parents,

I am attaching a link to a very interesting video here. Please watch it. It is not long and gives you some very useful tips for online learning:

Tips for online learning – parents and teachers

An idea for this evening: A live broadcast with our former student, Sara Isaković, the winner of a Silver Olympic Medal for swimming, in Beijing, today, Thursday, 9 April, at 18.00 on FB strani projekta Bodi dober, bodi kul! She will talk about her life in isolation. The interview will be in Slovenian.

Take care!

Kind regards,

4M Cultural Day – Religion

On Tuesday, April 7th, the 4m students had a Cultural day dedicated to religion. The pupils conducted research on the main religions in the world today, visited virtual tours of places of worship, and produced art pertaining to religion. The students carried out their tasks seriously with vigour, producing some interesting findings and creating some really detailed, aesthetic work.

A Message Regarding Student Agency

Dear parents,

We are privileged to have had the conditions to implement remote learning in the current crisis, however, being housebound for our students requires displaying all the skills we teachers long for them to develop. Among these skills is student agency―the responsibility for a student’s own learning that empowers them to fully govern their learning experience. Content is just a vehicle to build the skills and attributes we wish to foster in our students. Developing these skills and attributes ensures that students will thrive in a world where change is constant and learning never stops.

In times of change there is opportunity for responsibility, productivity and creativity, the opportunity to develop confidence to try new strategies and explore new concepts and contexts for learning, and the opportunity for responsible participation. Students should be thinkers and reflective and take this time to better understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to support their learning and personal development.

And, furthermore, because you are more actively involved in the learning process now, you have a better understanding of your child’s needs and abilities.

If the MYP students are late with their work and complete their task one week after the deadline, our teachers will still accept it and asses it, nevertheless, the student must advise teachers of the situation. The teachers are very busy monitoring and assessing student work, and checking tasks from previous weeks on OneNote is very time consuming.

Best wishes,

Irena Šteblaj

MYP Cultural Day – Alice in Wonderland

On Thursday, 2 April, with the guiding hand of Ms Tina Hauptman, The MYP was brought to life with a cultural day devoted to Alice in Wonderland, in which the pupils read the eminent story and watched a presentation through the graceful art of Ballet. The pupils were then given the task of creating alternative endings to the story, with accompanying illustrations. Take a look at some of the concepts in the gallery below.
