We would like to inform you that our government has changed the requirements for avoiding quarantine; only those who have received a booster dose or are fully vaccinated, recovered or were positive on a PCR less than 45 days ago do not have to quarantine.

All further information and instructions are in the domain of NIJZ (National Institute of Public Health) regarding the quarantine. Parents or legal guardians of students who have been in high-risk contact with an infected person will receive an e-mail. In case there is no e-mail provided, the information will be sent by mail.

The document regarding quarantine exceptions for people in high-risk contact with an infected person with SARS-CoV-2 can be obtained on In case you still receive a notice about quarantining despite falling under one of the listed exceptions, please notify the Ministry of Health via e-mail: Please enclose proof of the exception (vaccinated, recovered).

Provided your child has proof for being exempt from quarantine, lessons will be organised in school.
In case your child has not been identified as a high-risk contact but has probably still been in contact with an infected person, it is vital to observe their health closely for 14 days from the date of the last contact with the infected person. If there is any onset of symptoms of Covid-19 (poor health, signs of a cold, cough, fever, difficulties breathing, headache, muscle ache, loss of taste and smell, sore throat…), your child should stay at home. Next, you need to contact your family doctor or a doctor-on-call, where you will receive further guidelines. Finally, the doctor will assess whether your child needs to get a PCR test.
