FINAL GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS BEFORE
21st LJUBLJANA MARATHON
Students have received race numbers and school T-shirts in which they will compete at the marathon. The race numbers of the MYP students also include chipping devices. Please handle them with special care, since they are not supposed to be bent. You don’t need to return the race numbers. During the event students are parents’ responsibility. Students run on their own, without teachers or parents. When students cross the finish line, they should look for the OŠ Danile Kumar flag, because there we will meet. They will return school T-shirts there and receive a T-shirt as a token of the 21st Ljubljana marathon and a diploma.
On Monday the 24th of October, The MYP had a Science Day in Idrija. We visited Anthony’s Main Road: the old Mercury mine, where we discovered how the mining was carried out and got to experience the feeling of being in a mine. Then we went to the Municipal Museum where we learnt about Idrija’s past right up until the present day. After this we went to the gorge where the Franja Partisan Hospital is situated, where it was revealed how this hospital took care of people during the 2nd world war without being discovered by the enemy. Despite the rain, everyone had a great and thought provoking day!
On Friday 21st October, our MYP students went on a sports day to the Bit Centre. Students enjoyed different sport activities. Their favourite was climbing.
Dance lessons for the 8th grade students will now be on Tuesdays at 15:00, in the middle gym in building 1, as opposed to Wednesdays.
On Tue, Oct 18th some of our students from the international and national department visited the Russian centre. They watched a Russian cartoon about friendship, participated in a quiz and got some awards.
Afterwards, they had a chance to ask questions and discuss some fun facts about Russia and Russian culture. Did you know it takes 8 hours by plane to fly from one part of Russia to the other? By train it takes 10 days.
